If the wind

If the wind was not tied to the tree
would you walk with me?
If the sun was not bolted to the skies
would you gaze into my eyes?
If the rain was caged in clouds above
would you dance with me, my love?

  1. Jealous. Yes. That’s it. That’s what I feel when I read this one. It makes me wish I wrote it. Such great surprising images, simply done, and tied together with rhyme and meter. So rare for a modern poet to do this well. When I rhyme and time this consciously, it tends toward humor. But not you, you bugger. Good job!
