Cast Aside

Shadows linger on the places we use to lay

wrinkled sheets bend to the cold now

replacing a once longed for heat

and there is nothing left to cast aside

just ghosts lingering

Lighting upon the window

the dust of broken hearts

settle in for the long winter ahead

and there is nothing left to cast aside

just ghosts lingering

here blind

and I am fine….

 I catch my breath

and breathe

just like I use to be

only me

cast aside the days past

and breathe

just like we use to be

only me

cast aside the door closes

on might and should be

So yes, shadows linger on the places we use to lay

wrinkled sheets bend to the cold now

replacing a once longed for heat

and there is nothing left to cast aside

just ghosts lingering

here

blind
