about me

Some things really are worth fighting for, and life is too short to be silent. I refuse to be silent any longer while thousands of voices go unheard. We must each take a stand for those who cannot stand up – I hope my poetry does just that!

They can take my pen, I will sign on wind
They can take my paper, I will write on sky
They can take my shoes, I will walk on water
They can take all I own and all I have – I will still have my voice
should they attempt to take
and steal from me my life – I will be immortal
in the words I write

  1. You say “life is too short to be silent.” and you couldn’t have put it better. And there are other benefits too. A kind of freedom and peace when you say what you believe in.

  2. Longtime lurker, infrequent commentator. I just wanted to let you know that you’re in my top list of bloggers that I read faithfully. And I’ve left you a little something over on my blog. 🙂

  3. Hi JDF, thanks for following my blog. 🙂

“Thought for Today: Orange is the color of my revolution – what color is yours?”
….hmm…bright green maybe? ‘Cause that color always makes me want to start anew! 😀

  4. I definitely agree J.D.F. Life is to short to be silent. I am a poet of 17 plus years and I was writing pieces that wouldn’t disgrace my family. Now I have a new attitude on this…poetry is a reflection of me–my life. The only way I can be at peace is to speak reality. Thanks J.D.F
